Motivation
Bolt Action Software is providing a Wulfram II server which is compatible with IEN's Shock Force server, so you will be able to use IEN's Shock Force client to connect to the Wulfram II server. Wulfram II will be a temporary service Bolt Action Software will provide, to bridge the gap between now and the release of Erida (www.erida.com ).

How To Play
You must run shockforce with the '-root' argument, and then type colt.bolt-action.com in the IP address. To do this, first create a shortcut of "shockforce.exe".  Then right click on this shortcut and choose "properties".  Under target, enter " -root" (<space> <dash> root -- no quotes) after whatever already exists there.  For example, if it has "C:\ShockForce\ShockForce.exe" as the target, then after you add the above argument, it should have: "C:\ShockForce\ShockForce.exe" -root   To play, double click this shortcut to run the shockforce client.  Lastly, when you are prompted in the game for a server address, enter colt.bolt-action.com.

If you want a batch file (and your ShockForce install is in C:/ShockForce), then you can use the following batchfile to start the program: (supplied to us by Jamon: Click to download wulf2.bat).

Shock Force vs. Wulfram II
Bolt Action Software does not have the rights to the name 'Shock Force', and we do not wish to infringe on the use of this title. The fact that the 'Shock Force' client is in the public domain, means that IEN has essentially released this software for free. We do not claim ownership of this title by providing a compatible server. We will provide a server that is compatible with the 'Shock Force' server, but we it must be known as a 'Wulfram II' server.

Networking
We think our networking is going to bite... but it's either this or nothing. We want to see how bad it is going to be. The number of players has dramatically gone down, and we hope that our net will not be overwhelmed. Currently we have a DSL connection rated at 1.1 Mbps (bi-directional). It's a Covad rig, and we've seen some pretty nasty performance from it. The current server will most likely run on a windows NT box... mostly because that is what we happen to have available.

Wulfram II is not intended to be

   (a) very reliable
          (b) an improvement over what you had with IEN
          (c) your next girlfriend

It is intended to tidy over the users of Shock Force until Erida becomes available.

Policy / Trainers
There will be no trainers on Wulfram II. We hope the community will want to play the game in a reasonable way. We do support the notion of anyone with experience helping to teach the game to a new player.

Slurpy mistakenly spread the word to use news.bolt-action.com. This is NOT the correct news group to go to...
