Another in a series of ideas to help promote and
improve Wulfram
Wouldn't it be great to help increase the visibility
of Wulfram.com for no money?
Tired of suggestions that pile ALL the work on Slurpy
while the lazy slugs that play do nothing?
Here's something each team with a website can do to
help. It doesn't let wulfram.com totally off the hook but that
ties in at the end.
The ranks of a website is largely determined by how
many other sites link to it and the quality of those sites. To
increase the visibility of wulfram.com and related sites I suggest the
following.
Page title (team sites)
Don't just
put something your team name. Also add a short keyword rich
tagline that mentions wulfram and the words, free, online, multiplayer
if possible
Meta tags
Description
- 150 characters or less. Keyword rich like ... Team site
for xxxx playing Wulfram, the best free online multiplayer tank game.
Keywords -
less than 400-500 characters. Keep it to only relevant terms.
like ...
"online multiplayer tank game, wulfram, free, *team name*" ... and any
other unique terms mentioned on the main page of your site.
Cross site linking
Don't just
put a simple link to wulfram.com ... make it more descriptive and full
of keywords. Try to title it like ... Play Wulfram, the best free
online multiplayer tank game ... and make that whole line a clickable
link.
Link to as
many other team sites you can find. This raises the importance of
each site and thus the better wulfram.com ranking.
What Wulfram.com can do
Maintain an updated page with relevant team
links. The current one is a year out of date.
Place a link to DrDeaths PC site. Showcasing
cool machines to play wulfram on adds to eh cachet of the game.
Invite somebody to update the old shockforce manual
and display that online.
Another bit of info you can add is the legal mumbojumbo I've got added
on the bottom of my webpage. This just makes your website
look more official and professional (thus it is ranked
better), and is an easy way of pumping an extra link to the game
in there even if the body of your page already has one.
